Athletics

Our Valrico Academy Eagles are excited to begin our 2025-2026 Athletic season, continuing our efforts to help shape our student-athletes both on and off the field. We believe that sports participation is an extension of the classroom where valuable skills such as hard work, responsibility, teamwork, and sportsmanship can be developed and strengthened.

We are excited to once again offer a variety of competitive sports to compete in the Suncoast Charter Athletic League (SCAL). All sports are co-ed and open to 4^th and 5^th grade students. These sports include Soccer, Cross Country (Boys and Girls teams), Court Hockey, Volleyball, Cheerleading, Flag Football, and Basketball. 

All students are required to fill out the "Tryout Registration Form" to be eligible for tryouts. Students will not be permitted to "walk up" on tryout date without this form completed. Registrations must be completed by midnight prior to the date of tryout. 

By coming to tryouts, students and parents have accepted the responsibility that comes with being selected for the team; including all fees associated with the team and the schedule of the season. Students should not try out unless it has already been determined that the family can work with the schedule of the season. Rosters are chosen 1-2 days after tryouts, and once the team is selected, all fees must be paid by those selected.

Late cancelations are still responsible for the fees and can affect the student's potential to be selected for a future team. If you have questions regarding the schedule or fees, please ask before tryouts begin to ensure everything works for you. 

All other forms required once a child is selected for a team can be found in the "Athlete Participation Packet." Some forms can be filled out online, while others require physical copies to be filled out and returned. It is recommended to get an early start on the Participation Packet just to be pro-active.
