Artemis II: Mission Overview

The Journey Back to the Moon Begins!
NASA’s Artemis II mission will send astronauts on an exciting journey around the Moon, marking the first time humans have traveled that far into space in over 50 years, with a launch window planned between February and April 2026. As the crew travels around the far side of the Moon, they are expected to capture views rarely seen by humans, giving us a new perspective on our closest neighbor in space. This mission will test the systems needed for future Moon landings and help prepare for human missions to Mars, inspiring today’s students to imagine themselves as tomorrow’s astronauts and space innovators.

Oreo Moon Phases: A Delicious Space Science Challenge!

The Moon’s phases happen because the Moon travels around Earth, and as it moves, we see different parts of it lit by the Sun, creating shapes like the full Moon, half Moon, and crescent Moon in the sky. Try modeling these phases using Oreo cookies in a fun, hands on STEM activity that lets you explore lunar science in a delicious way.
